after my extended funk period through much of last week, which severely affected my productivity in pretty much everything from work to gym, things are slowly returning back to some sense of stability again. it was getting to the point where i could not focus while sitting in front of the computer and had to continuously pull myself away, which if you know me, is not something that happens often. after taking a trip down to midtown and piedmont park last thursday for the afternoon, shooting some photography and just getting outside and away from things, i was in a much more refreshed mood on friday. i thought my funk was over, but come saturday it had returned… i even had no motivation while working out at the gym (which is also quite abnormal for myself).

we had a xmas party with friends saturday night, and i was severely introverted and feeling quite anti-social the entire day. ugh…what the hell is going on?! there’s not a single thing that has sparked it and it’s not like anything in my life has changed that would cause such a long funk. i just have been really hard on myself lately and probably thinking about everything all at once way too much. anyway, we get to the party and i was still feeling highly anti-social and disconnected from everything, so with the persuasion of some friends i grab a drink to ease my mood some. it definitely helped and after a few drinks later i end up talking more that moment than i have in the past couple of days. we had a good time in the end and i’m glad that i was able to escape the funk (with the help of…um… you know).

since that night, the funk has eased its grip on my life and i am slowly becoming more productive with work and feeling much more ambitious at the gym. i have to get some really intense workout sessions in this week since i will be without a gym for a week and a half while in seattle, for which i leave this saturday (yea!!). i’ll have to do some type of non-weight workout for that time else i will go insane! this trip will be a good time to clear my head of things that have been bothering me lately and to figure out what to do next year when i get back to atlanta.

is it time to leave yet?

last night lee, todd and myself did our chartiable thing for the xmas season and attended this year’s atlanta toy party, which was a holiday cocktail party and children’s toy drive and took place at the inforum building downtown. it was a pretty good time overall… totally packed, everyone well-dressed and of course the free drinks weren’t bad either. no dancing on boxes for me this time though! we talked to a few friends we saw there… cruised the scene and then departed after we each used our four free drink tickets around 830ish.

since we were still feeling the effects of the fairly strong drinks, not to mention really hungary as the orderves they had didn’t suffice, we walked a couple of blocks to ted’s, which is a ‘montana grill’ well-known for their bison. now, i don’t usually eat red meat due to its negative health effects, but i will make an occasional exception for bison since it’s actually a really healthy red meat… and typically better for you than chicken. it was really good (being starving probably didn’t help either). by the end of dinner, our buzzes had worn off and we headed back to the inforum parking garage and headed home… satisfied.

there’s another holiday party on wednesday, one on friday and then another next wednesday that we will probably be making an appearance to. let’s see how productive i really can be these next two weeks before departing for seattle on the 23rd. ha!
