i have been browsing the net this afternoon… taking a break from work to do mindless nothingness in order to see what all seattle has in store for me. i have to admit that the closer it gets to march, the more excited i am getting. i am definitely glad that i chose seattle right now, though of course i will alway miss nyc. but, it will still be there for a while so no worries. if i am able to lock down a lease at this one apartment/condo complex on the northern end of downtown like i want, then i will be close to everything which will be awesome. living in a fairly decent walking city again…woohoo! (though not as walkable as nyc…but then again is any other american city as such?) at the end of last year, the olympic sculpture park opened up on seattle’s downtown water front…a few blocks away from where i hope to be living. i can’t wait to get up there and actually experience it. the park was designed by weiss manfredi architects in nyc, who i was working for during my architectural residency program for the second half of 2005. thus, i was able to experience the latter half of the project while it was undergoing construction and construction administration in the office. i even got to do some work on the project…but not too much as i was primarily focused on a new student center for barnard college. not too much longer and i’ll finally be settling down in seattle… and NO MORE moving hopefully for a while afterward!
