i am totally exhausted today! our mountain bike ride yesterday was awesome and i had so much built-up energy that i really never got tired after going at it for about two hours. the trails where nice and fast with plenty of climbs and downhills, but nothing all that technical. the trails yesterday were located at blankets creek just a couple of miles from lee’s place. i rode the easy trail with the group to start off with for a quick warm-up. then we did the intermediate trail, which they told me to go ahead in front since they knew i was going to take off (they have not been riding nearly as long as i have). the intermediate trail was very fast and pretty easy…ended up completing the loop in about thirty minutes. then i took a quick breather at the trail intersection before deciding to take on the advanced trail to see how difficult it really was. after all, i am doubting it’s nearly as technical as what i’m used to riding back in austin. it was also a fast trail though not quite as fast as the intermediate trail due to tighter corners, more rocky and trail obstacles. i also finished it in about thirty minutes and was pretty tired at the end so i met back up with the group and we headed home.

the trail this morning was near stone mountain, which is about a 45 minute trip from lee’s place. we were planning on hiking up stone mountain after our biking. the trails were located at yellow river and were much faster overall than the trails yesterday since they were easier with less climbs and downhills, though enough to make it exciting. the trails were not unidirectional and there were multiple path configurations to take, so you could potentially be out there all day riding different routes. we were out there about three hours and then headed home. lee and i decided that we would put off hiking up stone mountain since we had the bikes and no way to lock them up (and i don’t trust they would be safe on the bike rack on his jeep).

after a couple hours of rest and some lunch, lee and i then went to the gym. at first we were going to skip it since we were both exhausted from the bike rides, but i decided i was going to go anyway…i needed to. and plus, no pain no gain! after the gym we were totally exhausted, so we chilled back at the house for a couple of hours and then lee, todd and i went out for chinese food. it was a very good working out day, but not highly productive with work since i would work off and on in between doing other things.

yesterday was pretty good… ended up working some and ran errands with lee (remember i’m doing work for him and he works from home so it’s easier for us to discuss projects now). todd works about three miles away and he got back about mid-afternoon. lee and i went to the gym and luckily he knows the guys who work there pretty well so he was able to get me a discounted monthly rate there. it definitely felt good to get back into working out after having not gone since my membership at the gym on campus in austin expired back on august 29th. i am definitely sore today, but it’s the good soreness! lee has also been getting more into mountain biking recently after finding a group of guys to go riding with nearby, so we are about to head to a trail a couple miles away. i’m definitely excited to get back into mountain biking again since the last decent ride i had was again in austin right before i left. we also have a ride planned for tomorrow.

so back to last night… after todd got back from work we decided to go out to eat at a really good mexican restaurant near their house. we had a few margaritas to start off with since we were going to head to midtown atlanta after dinner to a club. once we left we were all feeling pretty good. the club was fun as usual and we headed back home around 100a. lee and i didn’t drink that much at the club since we have the ride this morning at 900a and didn’t want to feel like hell. speaking of the ride, i better get my ass in gear!
