sūp:urbia – Terminus

well finally… i’ve gotten around to putting together my very first mix! after playing around with ableton live 6 for the past year, version 7 has recently been released and i’ve decided to take the plunge and actually purchase it, which means i can output my own mixes. not sure what really inspired me today, perhaps it was the amazing hike in the olympic mountains yesterday that brought forth a tremendous amount of inspiration and creative motivation. anyway, i’ve had a few of these tracks in my head for the past few weeks which for me defines this summer, with a few other good summer tracks to throw in between.

Terminus, titled such as it marks the end of the summer finally, is a little “brighter” than much of what i listened to, but uplifting vocals work out well considering it’s still summer. you can definitely expect darker, less vocal and more progressive stuff as we transition into fall. the set starts off gradually at the beginning, but once it kicks in it’s constant throughout until the final track, which is a little darker than the others signaling the evolution of summer into fall.

enjoy! oh, and superurbia, which will essentially be the home of my mixes “sūp:urbia” and other creative output i happen to throw on there. eventually i will actually get some kind of site up, but that’s still somewhere on my long list of tasks
