well the mt. rainier climb that we had tentatively scheduled for the end of this coming has been postponed until mid to late july unfortunately. the main reason is the weather forecast a few days ago was showing a pretty decent chance for rain and snow on rainier for wednesday and thursday with mostly cloudy conditions… not all that good for getting the best experience. additionally, everyone’s schedule this week is pretty hectic including my own since we planned the trip pretty quickly without allowing much time for more intense training. thus, i am not completely disappointed (except i was at first!) as i would much rather climb when the weather is clearer.
josue, jesse and myself were able to get a training hike in at mt. si this past wednesday which was awesome… especially considering the weather finally cooperated. i ended up with some pretty major blisters on the heels of my feet once we reached the top after a poor choice in socks selection, the pain of which i am still dealing with today. whatever, it was definitely worth it. i took some photos and video from the top.
