so the constant bullshit that bush has been feeding congress and the people is unbelievably never ending. well mr. bush, you may as well give it up because we are not falling for your crap any longer! seven years of constant lies and crimes is totally enough, and thankfully many americans are wising up to the fact that you have done nothing but put our country into one of the worst positions we have ever been in. luckily for us and the constitution, the temporary eavesdropping law passed last august which broadened government spying powers (even on americans) is lapsing this week after the house shot down any extension of the law that the senate and bush approved earlier.
according to a nytimes article, “At a morning appearance in the Oval Office, President Bush pressed the House to adopt quickly a plan that the Senate approved on Tuesday to broaden the government’s spying powers and give legal immunity to telephone companies… The plan is essential, Mr. Bush said, because terrorists are planning attacks on American soil ‘that will make Sept. 11 pale in comparison.’ Mr. Bush maintained on Wednesday that letting the broadened surveillance powers lapse ‘would jeopardize the security of our citizens.’” well bush, sounds like you know something we don’t know (i.e. your next plan for a terrorist attack on our soil to prove your point like you had knowledge of regarding 9/11 before it happened) since you seem so certain that a major terrorist attack is coming. telecommunications companies (like at&t, etc) need to be prosecuted and sued by their customers for going along with this eavesdropping law that was completely illegal, and luckily the house turned down the law that would have given legal immunity to these companies.
