mtv.com sells out

as we all know, mtv has been selling out for quite sometime and has greatly gone downhill. their recent html version of their new site they just went live with is of course no exception to this trend. their previous all flash site was pretty freakin’ awesome and sat at the crux of innovative approaches to huge sites like mtv.com. the company i had an interview with and greatly respect their work, fantasy interactive, were the brains behind the previous flash site. unfortunately, mtv decided to replace that full-flash site with a horrible html-based version that is yet another rendition of everyone wanting that unoriginal and boring-ass ‘web 2.0‘ style on their sites. now it looks like just another one of those damn social networking sites… a slightly cleaner version of myspace.

thankfully i’m not the only one with this opinion… just check out the comments on their blog in regards to the new site. and if you want to experience horrible web design, give the new mtv.com a peak but don’t say i didn’t warn you!
