so the college period in my life and my life in austin has come to a close as this is my final night here. tomorrow i will be dragging my stuff back to la grange for a brief transitory period before heading east. this weekend was fun though… spent some quality time with friends before i take off since who knows when we will get to hang out again. actually we did quite a bit of partying, but thankfully not as much as i was considering as just staying out as long and as late as we did made me tired enough. i didn’t need the drinking aftermath to deal with either. saturday night we stayed up until about 5-6a… so of course i slept until noon that day. then last night a few of us had dinner at a french restaurant and then went downtown again, but only stayed out until 2a this time.
it was a good last night of going out with them. at the end of the night and this morning we exchanged our goodbyes, at which point it did really hit me that this is the end of this chapter in my life… in austin and soon to be in texas. it does bother me some when i think about it and reflect upon these past years here, especially recently with the closer friendships that have evolved. college definitely has been the best time in my life and it’s amazing to see how far i have truly come since the first day i stepped foot on the UT campus. as i have said before, it’s amazing to consider how those around you really do play a large role in shaping your path… them learning from you just as much as you learning from them. what if you had not developed those relationships? how much different would your life be, and do you think you would be at the same position as you are now?
