my days in austin are numbered

this weekend will be my final one in austin, after which i will be heading for la grange for about a week or so some sunday or monday. after la grange i will be taking off for atlanta to begin my new path and as a stepping stone for my ultimate move to nyc. right now i am thinking i will drive to atlanta since the cost of an airline ticket as well as shipping all of my stuff there will be fairly expensive, and i just want an excuse to take a road trip. another thing is that driving away from texas will make the move seem more final, which flying out will not. i think i could use that sense of closure on that part of my life in texas in order to start fresh… a new beginning.

so over the next week or so while also continuing my job search, i will be weighing the cost differences between my options for driving to atlanta. rent a uhaul and pay more for lack of efficient gas milage? rent a small suv (i won’t be taking much stuff) that’s better on gas milage and more comfortable for the 17 hour drive there (and a better radio to keep me going )?
